GOVERNMENT HOUSE.

HONGKONG. 1st, November, 1919.

My Lord,

In confirmation of my telegram of the 30th October, 1919, I regret to have to inform Your Lordship of the death of Lance Sergeant Robert Gair Robertson which occurred in the Government Civil Hospital on the 21st. October from the effect of a bullet wound in the head which was self inflicted.

There are, at present, no means of ascertaining

the cause of this act, but I enclose for the information of his brother a schedule of statements made by several members of the Police Force and others which make it appear possible that Lance Sergeant Robertson may have been affected by the sunstroke referred to.

I have the honour to be,

My Lord,

Your Lordship's most obedient,

humble servant,

778. Shabby

Governor, &c..

THE RIGHT HONOURABLE

VISCOUNT MILNER, G.C.B.,
